On Saturday I shared my Butterfly Gala simple stamping card and promised to share the stepped up versions. These are for those of you who want to take things to the next step, but it also allows beginner stampers to see what can be achieved with a few added extras.

The first card is for some one who wants to use a little more than just a stamp set and ink pad. It takes a little longer to make than the simple stamping version but not excessively so.

Butterfly Gala for someone who wants to add more

For this card I –

  • Coordinated the Highland Heather ink with the Gingham Gala 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (cut to 2.0 x 6.0 cm).
  • Added some cardstock (cut to 1.5 x 5.5 cm) in the same colour.
  • Placed a rhinestone in the centre of each of the butterflies.
  • Glued the paper and stamp cardstock direct to the card front but you could easily use some Stampin’ Dimensionals to add some interest.

The second card looks like this.

For this Butterfly Gala card, I

  • Stamped the butterfly images (it’s one stamp) as per the previous card and then stamped them again twice (re-inking in between) onto some scrap Whisper White cardstock. The bodies for each of the butterflies were also stamped onto each.
  • Punched out the butterflies. The punch lines up exactly with the stamped images so it punches out both butterflies at the some time. Quick and simple, no fussy cutting required.
  • Used a piece of Whisper White Baker’s Twine. I split it into three to form the wispy threads beneath the sentiment.
  • Adhered the larger punched butterfly (glue just the body) over the image on the card front and also added the smaller butterfly in the same way.
  • Added the sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Obviously, this is the card that took the longest time to make but it still took no more than 15 minutes.

The Butterfly Gala stamp set and bundle along with the Gingham Gala stamp set will be available from my Online store starting on 3 January. Details of the other items used can be found at the end of this post.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year and lots of happy stamping in the year to come.
