Last Saturday I shared my Simple Stamping Saturdays card using the Incredible Like You stamp set. Today I’m sharing a couple of stepped up versions.

A card for the Casual Crafter

The first card is for someone who has tools such as a Stampin’ Trimmer and doesn’t mind cutting their own cardstock and paper. I know that some of you love to hoard your double sided paper, but you need to be brave and cut it up and use it! I’m loving all the black & white sides to the Botanical Butterfly paper so have used it for this card (and the next).

Personally, I prefer a clean and simple style and I think I achieved it with this card.  The stamped panel is highlighted by a square of black cardstock. This is one of the tricks I learned when scrapbooking and didn’t want to use a large piece of cardstock as a matt. It’s a technique that works really well on cards too.

Here’s a view from the side (you can see the inside too).

I did use a fair number of Stampin’ Dimensionals to give my card depth. Not something you might necessarily want to do if you are posting this in the UK.

A card for the Avid Crafter

This next card is for someone who collects crafting tools and who has “bigger” tools such as a Big Shot (or other die cutting machine) to play with. I’ve used the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits to create a frame around the stamped sentiment and image. Tip – Stamp the images first and then die cut out. This will ensure that every thing looks straight.  This is not normally an issue with photopolymer stamps such as these but potentially a big issue with red rubber stamps.

Instead of using a strip of the Botanical Butterflies Designer Series Paper (a Sale-A-Bration item) I went the whole hog and used it for a whole layer. The green butterfly is from the same sheet of paper and was coloured using Stampin’ Blends.  All the rhinestones (both cards) were also coloured using the same Stampin’ Blends.

A strip of the reverse side of the paper was used to decorate the inside of the card.

Please leave me a comment and let me know which of the two cards you prefer. I would love to hear from you.

Happy stamping.
