Starting today, I am setting up my regular Simple Stamping Saturdays where I plan to feature a card ideal for someone looking to start on their stamping adventure.

Many people are daunted by the thought to putting stamp to ink and then stamp to paper. I’d like to show you that it does not need to be like that. In fact it can be quick, simple and very effective.

Simple Stamping Saturdays - Butterfly Gala

I’ve decided to start with the Butterfly Gala stamp set for a number of reasons –

1. The two butterflies shown on the card are on one photopolymer stamp so there is no problem lining them up.
2. The stamps are made from clear photopolymer so adding a sentiment is easy.
3. There are four different butterflies in the stamp set and five sentiments so it is easy to make lots of different variations. Just pick a new colour or image and off you go.

To make my card, all you need is the stamp set, one ink pad (I used Highland Heather), a pack of notecards (comes with envelopes) and a couple of acrylic blocks.

Simple Stamping Saturdays Butterfly Gala instructions

  1. Take a notecard and place it flat in front of you so that you can stamp on the right-hand side of the card.
  2. Choose which of the four butterfly images you would like to use and place the stamp on a clear acrylic block.
  3. Choose which of the five sentiments you would like to use and place on a second acrylic block.
  4. Open up chosen ink pad and tap the sentiment image a couple of times onto the ink pad. Stamp onto a scrap piece of white paper. Repeat this a couple of times until you get the feel of how much and how hard you need to tap the image onto the ink. Ink sentiment again and stamp onto the notecard. TIP I like to stamp the sentiment first so that I don’t need to squeeze it into a too small a space as a last minute thought.
  5. Repeat 4 with butterfly image.
  6. Clean both stamps before you put them away. I would recommend you use the Simply Shammy because it’s the quickest and easiest way to clean your photopolymer stamps.

The Butterfly Gala stamp set will be available from 3 January 2019 and can be purchased through my online store from that date. You can see details of the other items I have used to make the card at the end of this post.

Of course, the stamp set is also great for those of you who have been crafting for sometime. I’ll be sharing other projects with you later in the week.

Happy stamping
