It’s been a little while since I last took my Dragonfly Dreams stamp set off the shelf. But, I’ve done so for tomorrow’s simple stamping cards. Obviously you will have to wait until tomorrow to see those!

The Dragonfly Dreams  stamp set and coordinating Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits first appeared as a bundle in the 2017 Spring/Summer Catalogue. Even though the dies are designed to coordinate with the stamps set, it’s possible to use the two items by themselves. But together they create stunning projects.

A few tips when using this stamp set

  1. The stamp set is made from photopolymer and many of the sentiments are long. This means that you can bend them. Great for curving them to fit around the bottom (or top) of a circle.
  2. Stamp the outline image first and then the wings and body.  In fact, you don’t really  need to stamp the body if you are not confident enough. As a result, it’s a great set for all levels of crafters.
  3. The bee shape, and dragonfly body are not solid images. They are are a little uneven and resemble a watercolour image.
  4. Use paper snips to separate the cluster of butterflies into individual pieces or simply remove one or two.

Dragonfly Dreams stamp set
10 photopolymer stamps. The dragonfly and bee images are designed for two step stamping. This is where you stamp the outline in one colour and then stamp wings in second colour (or 2nd generation of the same colour).

Detailed Dragonflies to coordinate with Dragonfly Dreams stamp set
There are 5 dies in the set, three of which are designed to cut out images from the coordinating stamp set.

I have made many a card over the years using this stamp set. And I’ve also have held quite a few classes where they have featured, but it seems I’ve not blogged about them too much.

Here are a few of the projects made at an All Day Class way back in 2017.
