It’s the first Tuesday of December, and seeing as it’s December we get to choose a past challenge and make it festive. The first week means a colour challenge and I’ve opted to use Challenge #275 from back in June. I wanted images that I could colour and decided upon using the Making Every Day Bright stamp set.

I did something when making the card that many people think is a cardinal sin. I ripped my cardstock. On purpose of course. A great way of adding interest, and ripping the Shimmery White cardstock is a great way to create snow “dunes”.

Making Everyday Bright for CAS Challenge #301

These cute penguins were

  • stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink,
  • coloured using Stampin’ Write Markers and then
  • punched out using the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch.
  • The bottoms had to be cut off each penguin to give it a wider base to “stand” on.

The sentiment comes from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set. I stamped the sentiment in Garden Green and then punched it out using the Classic Label Punch. I had originally intended to simply fix the sentiment straight to the card front but then had the idea of having the penguins hold the sentiment.

Making Everyday Bright with cheeky penguins

Three cheeky penguins were added to the inside of the card. Don’t you just love the one that’s peeking around the side.

I hope that my Making Every Day Bright card  has given you some ideas and inspired you to give the challenge a go. You simply need to pick a colour challenge from 2018 and make it Christmasy.

You will find the link to add your card along with pictures of all the other design team members cards over on the CC&S blog.

Deadline for adding the link to your card is 11.00 pm (UK time) on Monday, 10 December.

Happy stamping.

  1. What a fun card, Fiona…like a little penguin parade! I love that you did the colors as little touches to their hats.
