Here’s our last CAS Colours & Sketches challenge before Christmas. We will be back in the New Year on 8 January. This week the challenge is to pick a 2018 Sketch Challenge and make it seasonal. I’ve opted to use the Making Christmas Bright stamp set and picked Sketch Challenge #256 from way back in January.

This was my favourite challenge from 2018, which is why I’ve chosen to use it.

Making Spirits Bright for CAS Challenge #302

I used very traditional Christmas colours for the card. Namely Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and Real Red ink.

These are the basic instructions for my Making Christmas Bright card

  • Old Olive cardstock – 10.5 x 29.7 cm scored and folded in half at 14.9 cm to make the base card.
  • Red Red cardstock – 10.0 x 14.4 cm adhered to the Old Olive base card using Multipurpose Glue.
  • Whisper White cardstock – 9.5 x 13.0 cm which you then
    • Stamp the wreath in Old Olive ink – stamping off first onto a scrap piece of paper.
    • Using Real Red ink, stamp the Making Spirits Bright sentiment at the bottom of the wreath.
    • Stamp the stars in Daffodil Delight around the wreath.
    • Cut the wreath out using two circle dies from the Layering Circle Framelit Dies.
    • Glue the Whisper White panel to the Real Red panel.
    • Place wreath into the aperture and then using that as a guide glue the centre circle in place.
    • Remove wreath and then adhere it to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Whisper White cardstock – scrap on which the chain of stars are stamped in Real Red. Colour in the stars using Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend and then fussy cut out using a pair of Paper Snips. Adhere the chain of stars to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

You can see better in the above photo all the layers and just how the front of the card was put together.

  • Whisper White cardstock – 10.0 x 14.4 cm for the inside of the card. Stamped with the chain of stars in Real Red and then coloured using a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend.

I hope that my Making Christmas Bright card  has given you some ideas and inspired you to give the challenge a go. You simply need to pick a sketch challenge from 2018 and make it Christmasy.

You will find the link to add your card along with pictures of all the other design team members cards over on the CC&S blog.

Deadline for adding the link to your card is 11.00 pm (UK time) on Monday, 17 December

Happy stamping.
