Hello and welcome to this week’s CAS Colour & Sketches Challenge. You may have read that this week it is my turn to host the colour challenge and I’ve also taken the opportunity to give you a sneak peek of a new stamp set – Making Christmas Bright.

The colours that I chose for the challenge are

My original intention was to do something floral. But, when I received the Making Christmas Bright stamp set  I knew that I wanted to use it for the challenge.

This is what I came up with.

Making Christmas Bright sneak peek for CAS #286 challenge

I used the same string of lights inside the card too.

I did have a bit of a dilemma when it came to adding bling. The original intention was to add some to the square corners on the sentiment but then I decided against it.

Instructions on how to make this Making Christmas Bright card are as follows

  • Poppy Parade card base – 10.5 x 29.7 cm scored and folded at 14.9 cm to make the base card.
  • Merry Merlot layer – 9.5 x 13.9 cm
  • Whisper White layer – 9.0 x 13.4 cm.
    • String of lights stamped in Merry Merlot  ink and then the lights were coloured in using Poppy Parade and Mango Melody Stampin’ Write Markers.
    • Sentiment stamped in Merry Merlot under the string of lights.
    • Glue the stamped Whisper White to the Merry Merlot layer and then add the whole thing to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Whisper White inside – 10.0 x 14.4 cm. Glue into the card once the string of lights are stamped and coloured.

I hope that this has inspired to you give the challenge a go. You will find all the details and the links over on the CC&S Blog along with inspiration from all the other design team members. You have until 11.00 pm (UK time) on Monday, 27 August to enter your card.

Happy stamping.
