A little birdie told me that combining the Bird Ballard paper with the stamp set from the Hugs from Shelli kit would be a great idea. Birds, feathers and even more feathers make for quick and simple cards.

I’ve needed some cards for the Crafting Acorns this month and here’s a pic of a couple that I made.

A Little Birdie Told Me

The top card is one of the ones given with team reward vouchers. The bottom card is a birthday card, but I think the sentiment gives that away!

The 12″ x 12″ sheet of double sided paper that I chose has huge flock of different coloured birds on it. By cutting out select birds using a circle from the Layering Circle Dies it is easy to create a different card each time.

Instructions for the top A Little Birdie Told Me card

  • Soft Suede card base – 10.5 x 29.7 cm. Scored and folded in half at 14.9 cm
  • Pool Party panel – 10.0 x 14.4 cm.
    • Using Pool Party ink, stamp the feather from the Hugs from Shelli kit all over it.
    • Glue the panel to the card front.
  • Soft Suede strip – 4.4 x 14.5 cm
  • Double Sided Paper strip (feathers) – 4.0 x 14.5 cm.
    • Glue the paper strip to the Soft Suede strip.
    • Fix the whole strip to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Soft Suede circle – die cut using the Stitched Shape Framelits.
  • Double sided paper circle (birds) – die cut the Layering Circle Framelits
    • Glue the double sided paper circle to the Soft Suede circle.
    • Fix the circle to the  feather strip using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Whisper White card stock scrap – stamp sentiment in Soft Suede
    • Die cut sentiment using the Stitched Rectangles
    • Tuck sentiment under the Soft Suede circle and glue it to the feather strip.
  • Whisper White panel – 10.0 x 14.4 cm
    • Glue a 1.5 x 10.0 cm strip of double sided paper glued down the edge.
    • Adhere the panel to the inside of the card.
