Time to share the Dragonfly Dreams Stepped Up Simple Stamping cards. I’ve used the exact same stamps as last Saturday’s simple stamping cards. Just to show just how easy it is to step things up a little or a lot.
This first card was quick and easy to make
- Switch out the notecard out for a Bermuda Bay card base. Using different coloured layers gives the card a totally different look.
- Stamp the spots on the Whisper White panel in the same way as the simple stamping card.
- Stamp the sentiment onto a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock and adding it to the card front using foam pads will give it some added dimension.
- Adding rhinestones adds a little sparkle without going over the top.
To make the second card
- The bee image was stamped three times in a row and then coloured. I coloured them using a Mango Melody Stampin’ Blend.
- Stamp the bee image a further three times onto some scrap Whisper White paper and then colour them too.
- Use the die from the coordinating Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits die set to cut out the bees from the scrap paper. The die gives them lacy wings which are really sweet.
- Glue the body of each die cut bee to the body of one of the stamped bees on the Whisper White panel.
I love the bumblebee image in this stamp set. I’ve had to rescue a fair few of them this year. The warm spring weather brought them all out but they didn’t do so well in the cold snap we experienced afterwards. My Mum brought me a bee house for Christmas and I need to hang in a nice warm spot.
The third card has more die cutting and stamping involved
- Two Stitched Rectangles were die cut – one larger than the other. Larger one in Pool Party and the other in Bermuda Bay .
- The sentiment was stamped in Bermuda Bay ink close to the bottom of the Bermuda Bay rectangle. This gives a tone on tone effect.
- A dragonfly was stamped onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Use Bermuda Bay for the outline and Pool Party for the infill on the wings. Then use the outline die to cut the dragonfly out.
- Stamp the dragonfly outline again, this time in Pool Party onto Pool Party cardstock. Die cut the image using the detailed die. This gives the lacy wings.
- Glue the body of Pool Party Dragonfly onto the stamped image. Gluing just the body will leave the wings free and you can move them to give the effect you want.
- Make up the card using foam pads and glue.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing these stepped up versions.
