We have been enjoying some fabulous Bank Holiday weather here in the UK. A little unusual for this time of year but no complaints here. Being the fifth week of May we have a double challenge this week, and this is what Cathy has for us.
The colours that Cathy chose are ones that retired a few years ago and I no longer have them. As a result, I’ve decided to use the following, which I think are pretty close.
Cathy’s sketch called for a square card and I decided to stay with this layout. Square cards are out of my comfort zone, but I decided to stick with it because it’s good to be pushed. Anyway, this is what I came up with.

Fancy making my challenge card yourself? The basic instructions are as follows
- Basic Gray base card – 14.5 x 29.0 cm. Score and fold at 14.5 cm
- Pumpkin Pie layer – 14.0 x 14.0 cm. Glued onto Basic Gray base card.
- Crushed Curry strip – 2.0 x 14.0 cm. Use Pumpkin Pie to stamp the flowers onto the strip and then glue the strip across the Pumpkin Pie layer.
- Whisper White inside – 14.0 x 14.0cm. Stamp flowers in one corner using Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry inks and then glue inside the card.
- Whisper White front – 7.0 x 10.0 cm. The sentiment and vase was stamped in Basic Gray. Stamp flower/stem in Crushed Curry making sure that the bottom of the stem has no ink on it.
- Crushed Curry scallop – 6.0 x 10.0 cm. Die cut the scallop along the 10.0 cm edge using the die from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits. Glue this to the Whisper White stamped card and then add to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
