Wow, we are dropping like flies at the moment due to sickness. Instead of our usual five there will only be three of us taking part this month.

The theme for this month is our favourite Sale-A-Bration item.

The 2nd Sale-A-Bration release brought us three new options, the Blooming Basket Bundle, the Eclectic Expressions stamp set and the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP). I’m  a sucker for designer series paper and to be honest I do tend to hoard it (as you may have seen in a previous post).

For my projects this month, I’ve decided to chop up some of my Springtime Foils DSP. What’s more, I’ve used all four of the different sheets in my cards.

For this Night of Navy card I used both the DSP with silver stripes and the other with silver/gold leaves and buds.

I cut each piece of DSP to measure 9.5 cm x 6.95 cm and then cut each piece in half to give two pieces of each measuring 4.75 x 6.95 cm. The striped DSP was then glued to the Night of Navy card base. I coloured in the leaves on the silver/gold DSP using my Dark Night of Navy Stampin’ Blend. These two pieces were then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish off the card I added a Night of Navy Crinkled Ribbon Bow which I had mounted on a scallop circle of Shimmery White cardstock and a larger scallop circle of Night of Navy. I also added a Petal Passion Embellishment to the centre of the bow just to finish it off.

The second card features the two sheets which are embossed with Rose Gold Foil. I made a very simple fancy fold card using an Early Espresso base card. Quick simply, start with a standard card base and then fold back the front of the card. I also cut a second piece of Early Espresso measuring 10.5 x 7.5 cm.
I coloured a single flower using my light Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends and then adhered the 10.0 x 7.0 cm piece of DSP to the 10.5 x 7.5 cm piece of Early Espresso.

I then cut two pieces of the spotted Rose Gold foil – one piece measuring 10.2 x 14.9 cm which was glued to what would have been the inside of the card and the second piece measuring 5.4 x 14.9 cm that was glued to the piece that was folded back.
The coloured panel was then adhered to the folded section using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The dimensionals were only added to the left hand portion of the panel (as you look at the coloured image) so that it did not stick to the DSP below.

I added a layered piece of Whisper White on the inside back so that when the card is closed you can’t see it. It also gives me somewhere to write a greeting.
I hope you like the projects I’ve shared with you, please feel free to leave a comment and let me know which is your favourite.

  1. My favourite DSP in any of the catalogues. These cards are lovely. I particularly like the Night of Navy card with the stunning bow.
