On Wednesday, I had lots of fun sharing how to make a Penguin Place Waterfall Card.

Waterfall cards have been around for years although I have to admit that I haven’t made one for quite some time. The technique was shared in a Facebook Live. What’s more, the recording can be found on both Facebook and my YouTube channel.

Penguin Place Waterfall Card - a fun and cute fun fold

Basic Cutting Instructions for the card

  1. Thick Basic White cardstock – 14.9 x 21.0 cm scored and folded in half at 10.5 cm to create the card base
  2. Penguin Playmates double-sided paper – 10.0 x 14.4 cm
  3. Thick Basic White cardstock – 5.0 x 23.5 cm scored at 5.0, 7.0, 9.0 and 11.0 cm
  4. Basic Black cardstock – 3.0 x 10.0 cm and 4 lots of 5.0 x 5.0 cm squares
  5. Basic White cardstock – 4 lots of 4.5 x 4.5 cm squares

Check out the video for the stamping and assembly instructions. The video also shows how the mechanism works – it’s amazingly simple.

Alternatively, you can use the Penguin Playmates double-sided paper. My version looks like this.

Penguin Place Waterfall Card alternative using the Penguin Playmates double-sided paper

I cut a 4.5 cm wide strip down the length of the paper (you could go across). And then simply cut 4.5 x 4.5 cm squares with the character that I wanted, inside the square.

If you really enjoy fussy cutting you can take the card one step further. Fussy cut the characters out, but you will have to glue them direct to card stock. If you add them using Stampin’ Dimensionals the mechanism will not work.
