Today I’m taking part in the Crafty Blogs Masculine Blog Hop. Please don’t tell my hubby that I’m sharing his birthday card. He has a big birthday tomorrow which calls for a special card, and I thought you would like to see it.
George and I love to travel, and because of this the choice of paper for his card was easy to make. The stunning World of Good Designer Series Paper features maps, compasses and globes in print and in brass foiling.
Once the decision was made about the paper, I had to come up with something a little different card style wise. I’d seen a couple of the Theatre Fun Fold Cards on Pinterest and decided to give it a go.
I used the following for the card (see bottom of post for the full supply list)
- Two different sheets of the World of Good DSP. One to form the “curtains” and another to form the frame.
- Bumblebee card stock for the base card.
- Elements from the World of Good Memories & More Card Pack to create the valance at the top.
- A globe from the Beautiful World stamp set. This is stamped in Bumblebee ink onto Bumblebee cardstock and die cut using a circle from the Stitched Frames Dies.
If you haven’t seen a Theatre Fold card this is what mine looks like when the “curtains” are opened.
And from the top.
It looks complicated and I would be lying if I told you that I didn’t make any mistakes!
Here’s the back of the card.
I hope you enjoyed taking a look at George’s card. The links to the others taking part in this Masculine Blog Hop are below. You can click on them in order or hop randomly. The choice is yours. Either way, have fun.
