Around the Corner – CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #287

It’s the last Tuesday of the month and this week the sketch challenge is being hosted by Karen. As soon as I saw the sketch I knew that I wanted to use the Around the Corner stamp set. It’s been sitting on my shelf for sometime and it was really about time that it got inky.

I still had my inks from last week’s challenge on my desk so opted to use them. They didn’t get put away straight away because I’ve been suffering from a summer cold and haven’t had much of an opportunity to craft or tidy up this past week. I would love to be able to tell you that I’m feeling better but sadly I’m not. These summer colds are far worse than the winter ones.

The card was pretty quick and easy to put together.

Instructions on how to make this Around the Corner card

• Poppy Parade card base – 10.5 x 29.7 cm scored and folded at 14.9 cm
• Mango Melody banner – 2.0  x 5.5 cm. Stamp Happy Birthday sentiment (from Balloon Celebration) in Merry Merlot.
• Whisper White panel – 8.0 x 9.0 cm plus scraps for the party hats.
  • Stamp sentiment and swirls in Mango Melody.
  • Stamp three party hats in Merry Merlot onto scrap Whisper White and cut out by hand.
  • Glue the stamped Whisper White panel to the Poppy Parade cardbase and then add the Mango Melody banner and Whisper White party hats using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• Whisper White inside – 10.0 x 14.4 cm. Glue into the card once the bottom right corner has been stamped using Mango Melody ink.
