I have already used my Lovely As a Tree stamp set to make a Christmas card (see my blog dated 26 June 2012) and this is another one. This time it is one that I designed for this month’s regular card class. The first one being tonight so you are receiving an advance preview this month.
You can’t see the glitter too well, but I can assure you that it has Dazzling Diamonds all over it. This could be a huge mistake as my mother is doing the repeat class tomorrow morning, and she and Dazzling Diamonds can make an interesting mix. The last time she used them at class she blew the excess off the card – that’s not too bad I hear you say, but she also blew the contents of the bowl that was underneath all over the place too. My dining room carpet still sparkles in places if you catch the light right! I’m so glad that I now have my new craft room with it’s easy to vacuum floor.
The base for the card above is made from Crumb Cake card stock and on top of that I have layered a piece of Always Artichoke and then Very Vanilla.
I stamped the tree scene first in Crumb Cake and then stamped the single fir tree in Always Artichoke towards the left hand side leaving enough space for the greeting. The greeting comes from the Curly Cute stamp set.
Once all the card was together I used a glue pen to highlight the trees and the ground before sprinkling Dazzling Diamond Glitter over it. I carefully knocked off the excess into a bowl and then poured it back into the pot. It really is a case of “a little goes a long way” with this stuff.
Class tonight is going to be busy as there are a few more projects to be made, so check back Sunday to see another one.
