World Card Making Day 2020 was last Saturday, 3 October. Lots of card making events were held all over the world. And, even I had two from the comfort of my craft room.
The morning session involved a 6″ x 6″ One Sheet Wonder and lots of laughs.
Here’s the cutting template for the 6” x 6” paper. Please note
- Everything is measured in inches.
- The coloured dots highlight which pieces of paper go together.
- Cut in order marked.
When choosing a piece of double-sided paper –
- Choose a piece where the front and back coordinate or complement one another.
- Take care with paper which has large print or lots of “white” space.
- Choose a print where you don’t mind which way up things are.
Base Card and Layers
- All four cards are landscape. To make these,
- Cut an A4 sheet in half at 10.5 cm along the whole length, and then
- Score and fold each piece in half at 14.9 cm. This means that you will get two cards per sheet of card stock.
- First layer of white or vanilla (cream) for each card– 10.0 x 14.4 cm. If you are using coloured card stock for your base card you will need to cut two lots of these for each card. One for the front and one for the inside.
Cutting instructions for the card stock to mat the paper
Please note that the mats are ¼” wider and longer than the paper. If you prefer a smaller border reduce by 1/8”.
Card 1 – ● | Card 2 – ● | Card 3 – ● | Card 4 – ● |
5-1/2” x 1” | 3-1/4” x 3-1/2” | 2-1/2” x 2-1/2” | 2-1/2” x 2-1/4” |
1” x 1” | 3-1/8” x 2-1/4” * | 2-3/8” x 1-1/4” * | 1” x 3-1/4” |
1” x 2-3/8” * |
*These mats sit against an edge so only three sides of the paper will have an edge of cardstock.
Sentiment and card stock mat cutting instructions

There are lots of 6” x 6”, 12” x 12” and A4 one sheet wonder template ideas on the internet. The original template and card ideas are by Elizabeth Jeanne Thatcher (AKA Happy Stamper) and date back to 2016. This is just one of the finished cards – it uses the paper and card stock for Card 4.
You can see all four World Card Making Day 2020 cards over on the Oakfield Crafts Facebook page. Please feel free to pop over there and take a look.
