The Friendly Silhouettes are part of the Friend Like Bundle along with the Friend Like You stamp set.  I started the week featuring the stamp set as part of my Simple Stamping Saturdays No.20. Today I’m sharing the last of this weeks cards. A further card swill be hared tomorrow on my FaceBook page. Friday is the day I usually take off from blogging.

Friendly Silhouttes

The die cut flowers in the window started off as a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Once finished with the die-cutting , a variety of Stampin’ Blends were used to colour the cardstock. The only difficulty I had making this card was cutting up my dimensionals (foam pads) small enough to hold up the flower heads!

Friendly Silhouettes

Cutting Instructions for this Friendly Silhouettes card

  • Bermuda Bay card base – 10.5 x 29.7 cm scored and folded in half at 14.9 cm
  • Whisper White panel – 10.0 x 14.4 cm
    • Use a Stitched Nested Die to cut out a panel in the centre. Keep the die cut panel.
    • Stamp sentiment on the Whisper White panel in Soft Suede.
  • Bermuda Bay frame – 10.0 x 14.4 cm
    • Use next the size down and next size up from the Stitched Nested Label die used to cut the aperture in the Whisper White panel.
    • Use the larger die first to cut a panel then, use the smaller die on the panel.  Note – The smaller die does not give an even spacing all around the larger panel. To get around this, line up the pointed ends (one end only) and the two long sides and pass thorough die cutting machine. Then slide smaller die along to other end and cut out that end.
  • Thick Whisper White cardstock – 10.0 x 14.4 m (you can get two out of each piece)
    • Die cut using the die with the open flowers on.
    • Colour the die cut using Stampin’ Blends.  I used dark in Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Soft Suede, and the combo Old Olive.
  • Whisper White inside panel – 10.0 x 14.4 cm

Assembly Instructions

  • Cut off the unwanted length of die cut and save for the inside of the card.
  • Adhere the long piece of die to the back of the Bermuda Bay Frame.
  • Adhere the Bermuda Bay frame around the aperture in the Whisper White panel. Leave to dry for a few minutes.
  • Turn Whisper White panel over so that you can see the underneath of the die cut. Slot Whisper White die cut panel back in place.
  • Apply glue to just the Whisper White die cut panel and then carefully place the Whisper White front panel onto the card base. Press down on the Whisper White die cut panel and remove the large Whisper White panel.
  • Use dimensionals (foam pads) to fix the Whisper White panel to the card front. Tip – you will need to place small pieces under some of the flowers.
  • Glue the remaining part of the die cut/coloured strip of flowers to the Whisper White inside panel. You can then glue the panel inside the card.
