This week Cathy has a Sketch challenge for us, and it looks like this.
Having held my VIP Acorn event this past Saturday, I still had things lying out on my desk from that the following day. So, I decided to use the Love What You Do stamp set and the Lovely Floral embossing folder in a totally different colour scheme from that used on Saturday.
A neutral colour scheme seemed a good idea, and I think that it has worked really well. Using a piece of Soft Suede as the card base, a piece of Very Vanilla was then glued onto it. The Very Vanilla layer had been embossed twice so that the flower “folded” around the sentiment.
Using Early Espresso for the main stamped image and then over stamping in stamped off Crumb Cake is just one of the many options for this lovely stamp set. The stamped image sits on a piece of Soft Suede which has been cut a smidge larger (0.25 cm) than the Very Vanilla. These were glued together and then adhered onto the small Early Espresso mat using Stampin’ Dimensionals. You can see more in the picture below.
The inside of the card was decorated too using same stamp images and the same colours as the front.
To help you replicate the card, the basic cutting instructions for my challenge card is as follows:
- Soft Suede card base – 10.5 x 29.7 cm (A4 cut in half along it’s length at 10.5 cm). Scored and folded at 14.9 cm
- Very Vanilla cardstock – 2 lots of 10.0 x 14.4 cm (one for inside the other for the outside).
- Early Espresso cardstock – 5.0 x 9.5 cm
- Soft Suede cardstock for mat – 5.25 x 8.25 cm
- Very Vanilla cardstock for stamping – 5.0 x 8.0 cm
I hope that my card for the challenge has inspired you to take part. Full details of the rules and also the other Design Team Members cards can be found over on the CC&S blog.
Happy stamping

Love all the details you put into this sketch. Inside stamping, embossing on the front, etc. Perfect. It’s been a pleasure being a guest designer with you all this month.
Loving the neutral colour scheme and the stamp set you have used is beautiful. I love the added embossed flower too, a wonderful touch. Hugs Bev x
