Hello and welcome to my post for March’s Alaska Achievers Blog Hop.
This month we are featuring projects made using products from the 2018 Spring/Summer and/or the 2018 Sale-A-Bration catalogues.
My project for this month features the Amazing You stamp set (available for free with a £45 order). I’ve also used the 2016-2018 In Colors that will be retiring at the end of May.
In fact, I’ve gone a little mad because I made three cards (all the same) using different combinations.
This first one uses some Sweet Sugarplum cardstock for the frame and also Sweet Sugarplum ink for the flower.
This second one use Flirty Flamingo instead of Sweet Sugarplum.
This third card features Peekaboo Peach instead of the Sweet Sugarplum.
To make the card
- Start with a 10.5 x 29.7 cm piece of Dapper Denim cardstock, and score and fold this card at 14.9 cm to make the card base.
- Take a 8.5 x8.5 cm piece of Dapper Denim and run this through the Big Shot with the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (available as part of the Blossoming Basket Bundle a Sale-A-Bration option which you can get for free with a £90 spend)
- Cut a square hole in the front of the base card – the Layering Square Dies are great for this.
- From a piece of Sweet Sugarplum (or Flirty Flamingo or Peekaboo Peach) cardstock, cut a large scallop square using a die slightly larger than the one for the square hole in the card base. Then cut a smaller square in the centre using the same die as the front of the card to make a frame.
- Glue the embossed Dapper Denim to the reverse side of the front of the card front so that it can be seen through the square hole.
- Glue the frame to the front of the card around the square hole.
- Stamp three lots of the flower/leaves onto some scrap Whisper White – once in Emerald Envy and twice in the same colour ink as the frame.
- Fussy cut the flowers as follows – Emerald Envy the whole thing, whole of the first flower head and then just the middle section of the last flower head.
- Use a bone folder to curl the top part of the flower head.
- Glue the flower together.
- Stamp both parts of the sentiment in Archival Black Ink
- Add the flower to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals
- Finish off the flower with a clear Faceted Gem.
- Decorate the inside of the card with a 10.0 x 14.4 cm piece of Whisper White stamped with the same flower in the same colour as the flower on the front of the card.
