Global Stampers – August Blog Hop

In the true spirit of a blog hop we have made a few changes to our monthly creative swap, and starting this month you are able to simply able to hop around all of our blogs in one day. Or, you can take longer if you so choose. It’s really up to you. Either way, I hope you enjoy it.

So, without further ado, Welcome to the August Global Stampers Blog Hop. You will either be starting here with me, Fiona Whitten, or have hopped over from Ann’s blog, or even back from Robbie’s blog. Either way, hello.

Hopping around the blogs is really easy. You simply need to click on one of the buttons at the bottom of this post. I’ve added a list of people too, so if you get lost you can simply return here and click on the appropriate person’s name that you want to jump too.

The theme this month is Fruit or Flowers. A wide choice, which meant deciding what to do was not so easy for me.

On looking at my stash I decided to go with the Grown with Love stamp set and paired it with the Color Theory Designer Series Paper.

As well as the Grown with Love stamp set I also used the coordinating Garden Grown Framelits to cut most of the elements. There were a few of the smaller flowers on the Crushed Curry  card (top right) that I had to resort to fussy cutting.

The above photo is a quick look at the three cards I made.  A more detailed photo of each card is below.

The whole of the flowers and sentiment for this Crushed Curry card were stamped in Old Olive onto the Whisper White. I then re-stamped the flowers in Crushed Curry and Berry Burst onto some scrap. The flowers were cut out and placed over the Old Olive ones and also over the sentiment to hide it. It’s a cute sentiment, but I wanted to show an alternate way of using the stamp.

For this trolley card I inked up the stamp, just the fruit/veg portion, with my Stampin’ Write Markers and then stamped the image direct to the piece of Whisper White. The trolley was stamped in Dapper Denim and cut out using a framelit. The markers give a softer look to the fruit/veg image that I really like.

To some people, I’m probably stretching it a bit to say that the trolley is filled with fruit. Although, strictly speaking a tomatoes, squash and pumpkins are classified as fruit (sorry to be a smart arse).

The trolley was fixed to the Whisper White piece using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then stamped the sentiment (which is part of the fruit/veg stamp) onto some scrap and cut it out before adding it to the trolley with some Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For this Berry Burst card I used the same method as the Crushed Curry card but only covered the two flowers. The sentiment has been left. The cute little flower stake is one of the framelits that come in the Garden Grown Framelits.
