Last weekend I held an all day craft event in my craft room. All the attendees received the Butterfly Basics stamp set as part of their kit, and surprise surprise most of the projects featured this set.

I put together 5 suites of projects, some where all cards and others a mixture of cards and 3D items.

One of the suites featured not only the Butterfly Basics stamp set together with the co-ordinating dies (items can be purchased individually or as a bundle saving 15%) but also the fabulous Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper (DSP).

These are the three projects that everyone made from that suite.

These are two Whisper White Note Cards and a bag made using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits dies.

Here is the front of the bag in more detail. There are a couple of layered butterflies. One die cut from some Coastal Cabana card stock and the other (the smaller one) die cut from the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper that is FREE with a £45 purchase. The smaller butterfly was die cut and then sponged with some Coastal Cabana and Sahara Sand ink so that the colour co-ordinates with the larger butterfly.

The bag itself is made by cutting two pieces of DSP with the larger die and also making a bottom from a third piece of DSP. With a little bit of trimming, scoring extra folds and sticking with Red Sticky Tape the bag is easy to make. The following photos show you where to trim, score etc.

I’m going to be making another of these bags to hold some more Note Cards. It will be a gift for my mother-in-law for Mother’s Day.
Details of the Stampin’ Up! products used to make these projects are as follows but please note that the stamp set is available in wood mount, clear mount and photopolymer.
