There is so much in the Spring/Summer catalogue that I want, that I had to draw the line somewhere. I love the idea of being able to make pop up cards quick and easily, but I figured that I would just have to wait to purchase the Card Base Pop ‘n Cuts and the Dress From Pop ‘n Cuts. Instead, I went looking on the internet and found an idea that had been posted by Lisa (aka Daffyscrapper) who simply used her Stampin’ Trimmer and Framelits to make a pop up card base.
It is my niece’s 4th Birthday in May so I thought I’d combine the pop up idea with the Dress Up Framelits and make her a special birthday card. She is not really into all the Disney princess stuff yet – I am sure that will come. But, I decided to try and make the card a little “princess” like by adding a little bit of glimmer paper and some rhinestones.
Here you can see the whole card and below is a close up of the dress and the inside of the card.
Stampin’ Up! supplies used:
Card stock : Crumb Cake, Basic Grey, Whisper White, Baja Breeze and Island Indigo
Ink : Baja Breeze
Designer Series Paper : Twitterpated
Accessories : Dress Up Framelits Dies, Labels Collection Framelits, Tea Lace Paper Doilies, Silver Glimmer Paper, Whisper White Bakers Twine, Basic Rhinestones, Decorative Label and Modern Label punches, and Dimensionals.
Please note that I used the Labels Collection Framelits using an end to cut the card stock but you could turn the framelit by 90 degrees and cut the card stock using the top of the frame. This will simply give you a different shape to the top of the card (and the base if you wish to cut that too).
I hope that Niamh likes the card. I will be putting it away in a safe place until May and have to hope that I remember where I put it.
If you would like to purchase any of the products that I’ve used and now have a long wish don’t forget you still have a chance to make the most of the Stampin’ Up! starter kit offer. The £162.50 worth of product for £99 offer has been extended to the end of the month (31st March). Details of how to join can be found by clicking here.
