OK, so I’ll try not to rub it in today. I’m currently in San Diego on our annual family vacation. Actually vacation is not really the right word to describe it. It is a vacation for the kids but more like home from home for my husband and me. He gets to go to work and I get to run around after the kids, do the house work and stuff like that.
Anyway, because we have a home from home I get to bring some of my SU supplies with me and I am building up a small stash of bits and pieces over here. I am sure that whenever my suitcase gets put through a scanner at Heathrow or San Diego that the customs guys have fun trying to figure out what is in there. This time around it was a pair of used brake callipers for my husband’s car (long story) and also a heat embossing tool. When we moved back to the UK I took all my craft tools with me, forgetting that I would not be able to use the heat embossing tool unless I had a transformer for it. Any way I am glad that I brought it back with me as it means that I will be able to make a project or two using this month’s technique – Cracked Glass. The only issue is that I am not sure if I brought a suitable stamp set with me to show the technique to it’s full effect. Watch out for more posts about this later in the month.
In the meantime, I wanted to share some simple thank you cards that I made using 2011-2013 In Color Designer Series Paper, card stock and ink and also the Curly Cute stamp set. My plan is to make a few boxes of these cards for craft fairs that I am doing later in the year.
Here are the three colours together. As you can see, I also put an insert in each of the cards along with some DSP to tie the whole thing together. Apologies for the poor lighting. I actually had to use my flash on the camera as it was dark outside. Despite what most people think, it’s not all sunshine in California all the time.
