Animal Outing is such a cute stamp set that I just had to share the stepped up versions I made.
This first card involves
- Stampin’ Write Markers, which were used to colour the bird and the grass, and
- 1″ Circle and 1-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punches for punching out the sentiment.
- Two inks – Tuxedo Black Memento ink and Granny Apple Green ink.
Instead of using a notecard I made my own card base from a 14.9 x 29.7 cm piece Pacific Point cardstock. The welcome sentiment was stamped in Pacific Point ink to give a tone on tone look.
For the second card the base card was made from a 14.9 x 29.7 cm piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock. Instead of Stampin’ Write Markers I used Stampin’ Blends.
Instructions on how to make the second card
- Glue 10.0 x 14.4 cm Whisper White panel to the card front and then glue a 7.0 x 7.0 cm piece of Granny Apple Green to the centre of the Whisper White panel.
- Stamp the images and sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto a 9.0 x 12.0 cm piece of Whisper White.
- Cut a rectangle around the image and sentiment using a Rectangle Stitched Framelits.
- Die cut around the elephant image using the coordinating die from the Animal Outing Framelits Dies.
- Colour in the images using Stampin’ Blends.
- Die cut a frame from Granny Apple Green cardstock using two concentric Rectangle Stitched Framelits (the smaller of the two being the one used for the rectangle around the images).
- Fix the Granny Apple Green Stitched Rectangle to the Whisper White Stitched Rectangle with the sentiment on it. I used strips of card behind to hold the edges together.
- Adhere the rectangle to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals ensuring that the elephant outline is over the Granny Apple Green panel.
- Pop the elephant image through the gap and adhere to the panel underneath. Remember to add the small piece that’s die cut out between the bird and the elephant (unless you want the Granny Apple Green to show through).
- Finish card by adding some rhinestones and stamping the inside panel of Whisper White (10.0 x 14.4 cm).
Here’s a closer look at the elephant and bird.
That’s it for now. I’ll be back with another Simple Stamping Saturdays card soon.
