Lilypad Lake – CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #276

It’s the second Tuesday of June which means that it’s time for a sketch challenge. This is what Wei has for us to try.

The challenge looks really simple but it took me quite awhile to come up with something that I thought met the sketch.

I did question whether I should add a sentiment. But, decided not to because it detracted from the panel and image.

The new Lilypad Lake Bundle consists of the Lilypad Lake stamp set and the Lakeside Framelit Dies. One of the dies gives a cool wavy effect, and  I used it to cut a piece of Blueberry Bushel card stock. A piece of Pool Party cardstock was then glued underneath so that it showed through the waves.

I saved all of the little wavy pieces and used a few to decorate the inside of the card. Waste not want not, as the saying goes.

The card was made as follows:

• Whisper White base card – 10.5 x 29.7 cm scored and folded at 14.9 cm.
• Whisper White mat – 10.0 x 14.4 cm adhered to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• Blueberry Bushel panel – 5.5 x 9.5 cm which was run through the Big Shot using the wavy die.
• Pool Party panel – 5.5 x 9.5 cm which was glued behind the die cut Blueberry Bushel panel. The panel was then glued to the Whisper White mat.
• Whisper White scrap – for the lilypad image. Stamp the image using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, and then colour using Old Olive (dark & light) and Rich Razzleberry (dark & light) Stampin’ Blends. The lilypad was then die cut out and then added to the panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
