I can’t believe it’s the first day of May and it’s also the first Tuesday of the month. This month Cathy designed the challenges for us. This is her first one, which is a colour one.

Sadly, Soft Sky is one of the colours that will be retiring at the end of the month. I’ll be sorry to see it go but I know that there are lots of lovely new colours heading our way.

I made this card of Sunday and to be honest I was in a bit of a funk. It’s was raining and we had put the heating back on!! Because of the weather my first thoughts turned to the Weather Together stamp set (also retiring at the end of the month). For some reason the Soft Sky and Berry Burst made me think of a striped umbrella.

I used Berry Burst cardstock for the card base and then added a layer of Soft Sky and Whisper White.
The main part of the umbrella was stamped in Berry Burst and I masked off the image to stamp the handle in Sahara Sand. I used both Soft Sky and Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Markers to colour the images.
The sentiment made up of two stamps was stamped in Berry Burst and lastly I added some Soft Sky raindrops.
There are lots of other images in the stamp set so I made a couple of other more cheerful cards using the same challenge colours.

I think that all of these cards fit the challenge brief, but stuck with the umbrella one for the challenge blog because it was the first one I made.

  5. I love the way your umbrella card features the Berry Burst color and the other two colors are secondary! Just perfect with the stamp you used. Glad the colors inspired other cards, too, Fiona!
