It’s now September, and this means that it’s my turn to host the CC&S challenges. Gulp. I knew that I would have to do this when I signed up to be on the design team, but nether-the-less it’s still quite daunting.

I don’t know what it’s like by you, but the weather here in Southern England has certainly changed, and not for the better. I even know of some people who have already turned their heating systems on. Here’s hoping that we might get some last minute warmth and sun because I’m not a cold weather person.

Anyway, the first Tuesday of the month means that it’s time for a colour challenge and this is what I have for you all.

Being September the first thought was Autumnal colours, but you really could do all sorts with them. The Design Team have some fabulous ideas but here’s what I came up with using the Sheltering Tree stamp set.

Sheltering Tree, Autumnal card, cards for men
I stamped the tree in Always Artichoke and the leaves in Tangerine Tango. The leaves were stamped off first onto a scrap piece of paper to give a lighter variation of the colour.
This stamp set is really cute and versatile because you can use it for all four seasons (check out a previous post here) and there are a few little accompanying stamps in the set such as the swing, rake (see photo below of the inside of the card) and a bicycle. Not forgetting the four sentiments too.

As mentioned above, the inside of the card had to be stamped too, so I added a tree on the opposite edge to the one on the front of the card. This time I added a pile of leaves and the rake.

Don’t forget to check out the inspiration from the other Design Team members, by clicking here or on the challenge picture. But before you do, please leave a comment and let me know what you think of my card.

  1. I love the colours you have chosen for this week they are perfect for Autumn. Your little tree scene works so well and having the image inside the card is such a cute idea!
