Do you have a favourite pack/sheet of patterned paper that you simply look at, think about using, and then put away again untouched because you just can’t bring yourself to cut it up? I’m sure that this is a situation that a lot of paper crafters are familiar with, me included.

This month I challenged my team to take the plunge and cut up a sheet of their favourite designer series paper from the 2017 catalogue.

I have two favourites – Delightful Daisy and Petal Garden. For the challenge I opted to use the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper (DSP).

These cards are quick and easy to make and you can get six from each sheet of 12″ x 2″ paper. There’s no complicated cutting involved because each piece of DSP measures 9.5 x 13.9 cm. They sit on a Whisper White mat measuring 10.0 x 14.4 cm and that in turn is adhered onto the card front.

The sentiment comes from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set. I stamped this in Night of Navy ink onto a piece of Whisper White and then cut it out using an oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

The sentiment layer sits on a Night of Navy Scalloped Oval cut out using the Layering Oval Framelits. I used a Chalk Marker to make the white dots on the scallop.

I love this bright cheery daisy paper and hopefully it’s inspired you to take the plunge and cut up some of your favourite paper too.

I’m off now to make my swaps for Friday’s team get together. If you fancy coming along to see what it’s all about please get in touch.
