The other week I went to Farnborough Library to hold a class for one of the local craft groups. I’ve been there a few times, and although not everyone is a paper crafter they usually all have a go at whatever project is on offer. For Christmas last year we made cards, but this year I decided to do something a little different.

We used the Santa’s Sleigh stamp set and the co-ordinating dies to make a Christmas plaque. The plaque can be sat on a table or mantelpiece. It would however be easy to add some ribbon so that it can be hung up.

I have to admit that we did cheat a little because all the Cherry Cobbler cardstock for the frames had been scored and cut beforehand.  Everyone still rolled and made the actual frame though.

You can find a tutorial for the box frame on the Tutorial page (see the tabs above). It’s the one for the Friends & Flowers Box Frame, and I simply used a whole piece of A4 cardstock for this plaque instead of the 8″ x 8″ used in the tutorial.

The finished size of the plaque is 21.5 cm x 13.0 cm (8-1/2″ x 5-1/4″). Not huge but not exactly tiny either.

Everyone finished making their plaque in the allotted time, although I was beginning to panic that some would not finish. This was because they could not make up their mind as to what colour to use for the parcels in their sleigh. I guess that serves me right in taking my whole box of Stampin’ Write Markers and not just a select few.

I hope you like the plaque and please feel free to leave a comment.
