A few weeks ago I replied to a post on a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator Facebook page asking if anyone would be interested in taking part in an monthly international blog hop/swap.

I put my name forward and joined the group with all these other fabulous demonstrators.

Robbie Rubala – Maryland, USA
Ann Lewis – Brisbane, Australia
Alicia Yap – Hamilton, New Zealand
Valérie Perlin – Lyon, France
Kelly Evans- British Columbia, Canada

The plan is for the swap/hop to take place on the fourth Sunday of every month. Strictly speaking, its not a blog hop but we will be sharing photos of each others projects with links to the appropriate blog post so that those wanting to see more can click and go take a look.

Some people plan to post details of the projects over a few days and others all in one day.

Each month there is a chosen theme or stamp set for us to feature and this month it’s the 2016-2018 In Colors. I decided to go with Emerald Envy. I can hear a couple of my team groan as they read this because they really don’t like green too much. It’s one of those love/hate kind of colours but I decided to go with it.

One of the things that I love about Stampin’ Up! is the fact that there is colour co-ordination across a range of products. If there’s an ink pad there will be cardstock, paper and of course ribbon or another form of embellishment to match.

There is also a Stampin’ Write Marker which I forgot to include in the photo. Oops.
I’ve actually made a couple of projects to share, the first of which just had to be done.

This little frog comes from the Lots of Love hostess stamp set. I stamped him in Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto a scrap piece of Emerald Envy cardstock and then fussy cut him out. The bubble background is from a stamp set called Playful Backgrounds.

The second project is a simple gate fold card featuring the Perfectly Wrapped stamp set.

I used some of the Emerald Envy paper from the 2016-2018 In Color Paper Stack to decorate the card, inside and out.
A gate fold card like this is quite easy to make. I started with a piece of A4 Thick Whisper White (21 cm x 29.8 cm) which I cut in half to give a piece of card that is then 21cm x 14.9 cm. With the long edge (21 cm) at the top I scored the card at 5.25 cm and then 15.75 cm. If you have a Simply Scored Scoring Tool with the Metric Plate there is a notch and groove for scoring card at 5.25 cm.

Details of some of the Stampin’ Up! products used are as follows:

I’ll be back tomorrow to share the projects from everyone else, so please pop back and check them out.

  1. Fiona this card is adorable. That frog image is so cute. Love how you used the flower ds paper with it – perfect pairing! So glad you are part of the team!

  2. I love the little frog from the Lots of Love Stamp set – he is super cute and he just about jumps right off the page in Emerald Envy – such a vibrant colour. You hve inspired me to use it even more in my projects.
