This week’s challenge from the CAS Colours & Sketches blog is a colour one – Challenge # 168. I love these three colours and had a lot of fun coming up with ideas.

I can’t decide which of the two I should enter into the challenge, but I’m thinking the bottom one.

These cards are pretty easy to make using the Masking Technique. Post-it-notes make it really simple to do.

This is how I created these cards.

1. Stamp image of large flower onto the top of a pile of three or four post-it-notes making sure that part of the image is over the sticky strip at the top. Cut all three/four post-it-notes out in one go. These make your mask.
2. Stamp your first image onto some cardstock and then place a post-it over the top.
3. Stamp second image over lapping the post-it and then place a new post-it on top of this new image.
4. Stamp third image over lapping a post-it-note and then place a new post-it on top of this new image.
5. Stamp over the gaps in the post-its using a smaller stamp and different colour ink.

Please note that if you are stamping a greeting straight onto the same piece of cardstock, you may want to do this first to ensure the correct placing of your stamped images.

This second card is the one I’m going to enter into the challenge. As already mentioned, the flowers are from the Garden in Bloom stamp set but the greeting comes from the Cottage Greetings stamp set.

As usual please feel free to comment.

  1. Two stunning CAS cars using the challenge colours, not sure which one I like best. Gorgeous colouring, they have a fab contempo feel for a floral design, which I think is very CAS
Thanks for playing along with CC&S this week
