It’s time for my weekly challenge entry. Actually, it’s a bit of a cheat because I did in fact use the sketch to help me design one of the cards for this coming weekend’s class. Shh don’t tell anyone, but this one of the cards that people will be making.

The CAS Challenge # 164 is a sketch, which is actually quite a simple idea as you can see below.

Here’s my take on the sketch. I used the Friends & Flowers stamp set and punched out the stamped circle images and then snipped into the ones on the top layer. This gives them a little added texture as you can see from the second photo.
The Designer Series Paper comes from the 2014-2016 Designer Series Paper Stack.  The paper stack and all the 2014-2016 In Colors will be retiring at the end of May. The Lost Lagoon and Blackberry Bliss are my two favourites out of the five colours and I’ll be sorry to say goodbye.

I kept the inside very simple and decorated it using washi tape. Love, love, love washi tape. It’s great for decorating all sorts of things and I have on occasions used it to mask part of a stamp that I did not want to ink up. You just have to remember to peel it off before you put the stamp to paper.

As always, please feel free to leave a comment and if you are interested in knowing what products I used, the details are as follows:

  1. That's a great card Fiona. I also will be sad to say goodbye to blackberry bliss and lost lagoon – in fact, I've barely embraced the new colours because I've been so focused on these going away! Love the decoration of washi tape on the inside. Thanks for joining us at CAS Colours & Sketches this week. Liz x

  2. Love that bold diagonal! Looks so effective combined with the modern flowers. Thanks for joining us at CC&S this week.
