I haven’t entered a card in a challenge for a little while and thought it was about time. I’ve just made it in time for the latest one from CAS Colours & Sketches as it closes tomorrow.

I love this sketch challenge – there is so much you can do with it.

This is what I came up with.

It is in fact a Mother’s Day card that I have made for my mother-in-law. Never fear, she’s 83 and doesn’t have access to a computer (or mobile phone) so I know that she won’t see it before she receives it in the post.

I paired Rose Red and Blushing Bride ink and cardstock. It’s such a pretty combination. The little leaves are Old Olive and I’ve also used the Clear Wink of Stella on them.  Shame that the photo does not pick up the glitter, but it is quite subtle which is why I like it so much.

The circles were punched using 1/2″, 3/4″ and 1″ circle punches. Behind the holes I placed a couple of hearts that had been cut out using the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits Dies. The dies co-ordinate with the Bloomin’ Love stamp set and I used this to stamp the heart for the greeting on the inside.

I hope you like the card and please feel free to leave a comment.

  1. I really like the punched out circles with the die-cut heart behind. And a lovely colour combination. Thanks for joining us at CC&S this week. Caro x

  2. Wonderful card! Love how you used the sketch – with the punched openings so the dies peek through. Great colors too. Thanks for playing along with us at CC&S!

  3. I love the apertures with the die cuts behind and then the use of the corresponding stamp inside. Thanks for joining us at CC&S this week. Stef x
