Today is my sister, Tracey’s birthday. I’m not going to divulge how old she is (I can say that she’s a couple of years younger than me) but I can show you the card that I made her.

Tracey is a keen gardener so I thought I would make her something that would reflect that. Well sort of, as I don’t have any suitable flower stamps with me. I posted this to her when I posted George’s anniversary card (see previous post) but have no idea if it made it to her before she went on holiday. Hopefully it did.

The embossed wall was made by inking up the inside of the Brick Wall embossing folder with a sponge and some ink in a slightly darker colour than the card stock. I simply sponged the side that has the raised part as I wanted the cracks between the bricks to be highlighted.

All of the butterflies were stamped using the Stamping Off Technique and just a Pool Party Ink Pad for the wings. There is a tutorial on the Tutorials Page on how to do this.

Of course I also stamped the inside of the card and also the envelope with a butterfly. In fact, the butterfly on the inside was a spare die cut one that I had lying around and decided to use.
