I thought that seeing as it is already the middle of February, that I should take part in a card challenges. As always there are a lot to choose from and I managed to find one that hadn’t yet closed.

This time I have I chosen the Clean & Simple – Colours and Sketches Challenge No. 111

My problem is that I’m not sure that my card is what they would call Clean & Simple, so I’m not really sure that it fits the brief, but hey ho it was fun to make, and it really did take me out of my comfort zone. In fact,  I had three attempts! They are all the same card but with or without a greeting, and with the greeting in different places too! It took me ages to decide on which one to enter, and this is it.

I thought I would also share the other two versions – so you can see my thought processes (which were all over the place). The first card had no greeting and it most definitely needed something. The second version had the greeting but I was not too sure about it’s placement.

Needs something else

Not quite right

If you are wondering what Stampin’ Up! supplies I used, they were the following:

Stamp set : Moon Lake
Card Stock : Garden Green, Early Espresso and Whisper White
Ink : Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and Early Espresso
Designer Series Paper : Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack
Blendabilities : Old Olive, Wild Wasabi, Crumb Cake and Soft Sky

Please feel free to leave a comment and if you prefer one of the other cards to the one I entered please let me know. I won’t be offended, honest.

  1. Hi. This is a lovely card and is still fairly cas. It's just that your white space is green! I always have trouble placing sentiments.

  2. I agree, I prefer the final version of your card. I love that kinda 'lonely' boat stamp which you've coloured so beautifully. Thanks so much for joining us at CC&S this week Fiona. Stef x

  3. What a lovely serene scene! I'm glad you shared all three versions of your card. Thanks for joining us at CC&S! 🙂 I hope you'll come back again soon for another challenge.
