Yesterday I shared a project that I made for the latest Fresh Made Sketches challenge and today I would like to share the project that I made using some of the left over scraps.

I have a huge box of scraps that everyone who comes to class can dip into as and when they need something. I hate to throw anything away so this means that the box is quite full. I have as yet to pull out all the bits of retiring colours and I don’t really want to start to add card and Designer Series Paper from products that will be in the new Annual Catalogue, so I thought I’d try to use some up.

This is what I came up with

Apologies, but my weaving looks a little wonky. I love the colour combination on this card so I decided to post the photo. The weaved part was made up of 1cm strips of Lost Lagoon and Blackberry Bliss card stock and also 1 cm strips of Moonlight Designer Series Paper. The greeting comes from the A Dozen Thoughts which is in the current 2013-2014 Catalogue.

I think that this is a great way of using my scraps and I can see me making more backgrounds using this technique.

I’m off now to the team training that’s being held here later. I have a couple more bits of prep to do before we start – nothing major just making sure that all is in order and double checking that everything is ready.
