Monday was most definitely a stay at home day. I guess it was a typical wet May Bank Holiday, but it meant that I could spend the day in my craft room without feeling guilty about anything.
After doing all the tidying up and filing, I had time to finally play with the Photopolymer stamp sets that I got free with a recent order.
We had a brief introduction to the stamps in Telford and some of the important things to note are:
- The stamps are pretty solid, and the long stamps will flex if you wish to give a draped look. It also means that the stamps do not squidge like some other clear stamps, and they give a lovely clear crisp image
- The stamps can discolour with use – Real Red and Basic Grey are apparently the worst, but cleaning straight away will help
- The stamps are very tacky and will stick to the clear blocks no problem. If the tackiness wears off it can be revived by washing in warm soapy water
- Do not leave the stamps in direct sunlight for any length of time. The stamps are made by using light to set a gel and prolonged direct sunlight will affect the stamps by drying them out
- The current photoploymer stamps come in a clear cellophane bag but future sets will come in the clear-mount stamp cases
I love how I was able to make this card without the use of the Stamp-a-ma-jig. What you can’t see from the photo above is that three of the images are popped up on dimensionals, so I took another photo to show you.
I really enjoyed playing with these stamps and can’t wait to see what will be in the new Annual Catalogue.
