I’m doing a lot of travelling this week – pretty long flights so not much room to do anything. Saturday was just under ten hours from Heathrow to Miami and last night was a five and a half hour flight from Miami to San Diego. I’m not very good at sleeping when I’m travelling, even on the longer flights, so the more I have to occupy me the better.

I have My Digital Studio (MDS) on my laptop and this is a great way to spend time crafting in a confined space and keep it tidy too (no ink pads, paper trimmer, punches etc needed). I’ve downloaded a couple of stamp brush sets that I don’t have as actual stamp sets and thought I’d play with one of those on last night’s flight.

In fact, I made two versions of the same card using the Sweetest Gift stamp brush set.

Tempting Turquoise, Coastal Cabana and Whisper White
The great thing with MDS is that you can have different shades of the same colour with both the “ink” and the ‘card stock”. This means you can overlay stamps onto the card so you can see them. Both the storks and the card stock they are Coastal Cabana, it’s just that the card stock is at 65% so that the stork which is at 100% shows. It’s kind of like putting a piece of vellum on the card and stamping on the vellum.
Pink Piroutte, Melon Mambo, Rose Red and Whisper White

The other great thing with MDS is that you can re-size and crop things to
fit. Once I get home I am tempted to remake these cards with the actual
stamp set (another thing I now just have to get) and then make a hybrid
card. I can stamp the background and punch the ribbon but then print out
the greeting as my decorative label punch is nowhere that big!

Off now to go visit another college with Michael, it’s a bit of a drive to LA for the visit but at least we can drive there and back in the day from here.
