A couple of days ago I spotted a post on YouTube that showed how to make a belly band for a gift box using the Scallop Tag Topper. I forgot to bookmark the web-site so couldn’t find it when I wanted to try it a try myself but figured that it really couldn’t be too hard. I was right it’s so quick and simple so long as you score and fit the belly band around the box BEFORE you punch the ends!
I started with a piece of Gold Foil card that measured 2″ x 12″ (30.5 cm) and one of the Kraft Gift Boxes. I scored the Gold Foil at 4.2 cm and 10.7 cm from both ends, checked that it fitted correctly and then punched both ends using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch. A piece of Pool Party Seam Binding Ribbon to tie the two ends together and….. oh, not quite done. I should have mentioned that I decorated the box using Pool Party card stock that I had embossed using the Scallop Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
I also made a tag to go with the box and started off with just the embossed card stock on a piece of the Gold Foil. I wasn’t quite happy with it so made some flowers using the Spiral Flower Originals Die. Big confession coming up, I’m not a huge user of hot glue guns but I am being converted very rapidly. It is by and far the quickest and easiest way to make the flowers and I have to admit that I am very pleased with the result (even if there is a little excess glue that you can’t see).
