I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s blog hop. If you didn’t get a chance to check it out, there is still time. Just scroll down to the next post, but don’t forget to come back and check out today’s projects.

I have some news to share with you today. Check out the new product that was launched yesterday.

How do you fancy being able to make your embossing simpler and lighter? The Texture Boutique is ideal for those of you who love embossing folders but don’t want to go to the expense of the Big Shot. Or for those of you who like to visit friends for a spot of crafting and want something more portable to take with you. I guess my wish list has just gotten longer, what with all the Spring/Summer Catalogue goodies too.

What’s more, if you purchase the Texture Boutique along with three embossing folders of your choice your order will qualify you for a FREE gift from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue. But only if you purchase before 31 March.

If you want to see more, check out this link to a Stampin’ Up! YouTube Video all about it.

Talking about embossing folders, my projects for today feature the Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

The striped banner was made using Very Vanilla card stock and some of the new Retro Fresh Designer Washi Tape. I simply put strips of tape on the card stock and then cut out the banner using the new Banner Framelit dies.

If you are wondering how I made the card base, here is a quick tutorial. I used the Starburst Framelits to make the base card out of Naturals Ivory card stock.

Run a piece of folded card stock through the Big Shot using the largest Starburst Framelit die, but make sure that the fold is within the die, as per the picture above.

Your base card will then look like this. Decide which way you want the top of the card and then cut off a slice of one of the flaps, this will help the card to stand up and not roll around.

This is what the back of my card looks like.

Fold is at the top and you can see where I cut off a piece of the bottom.
Cut a full Starburst circle and then emboss the card front if you want to have an embossed look. You can then glue the cut (and embossed) Starburst circle to the card front and this hides the fold. Decorate as desired.
Have fun giving this ago and don’t forget to check out my Sale-A-Bration page to see what it’s all about and how you can get some FREE Stampin’ Up! products.
