I was supposed to be back off on my travels again today and had I a couple of posts scheduled for while I am away. This is one of them. Unfortunately, my daughter has been taken ill and has been advised by the doctor not to fly until some x-rays and a blood test result are back. Flights have been re-booked for next weekend in the vague hope that she has the all clear by then.
Here is the last of my projects made using the Regarding Dahlias stamp set.
This time I used the Rock and Roll technique to ink up the flower head stamp.
I inked the stamp with Pool Party Ink first and then “rolled” the edges of the stamp on my Island Indigo ink pad. For those of you who have not used this technique before the trick is to ink the stamp with the lighter colour first and then roll the edges in the darker. It does not matter if you get the lighter ink on the darker ink pad but it could ruin your ink pad if you go the other way around. The only other thing to remember is to clean your stamp between stamping each image to ensure that there is no ink transfer onto the lighter colour pad. This does mean that the likelihood of getting two images the same is close to zero but no two flowers are identical in real life so it doesn’t really matter.

Ink : Pool Party and Island Indigo
Accessories : Bitty Butterfly Punch, and Basic Rhinestones
I have to admit that I hadn’t actually planned to add the punched butterflies but I made a bit of a smudge in the top left corner so had to hide it! I probably shouldn’t have told you that, but we all make mistakes and what better way to hide this one than with a butterfly?
I’m thinking that this stamp set would be a great one to use for wedding invitations as there are so many different techniques that it can be used with. Over this past week I’ve shown you four (if you include just straight forward stamping) but there are a lot more out there.
