It seems a little odd making Christmas cards in this lovely hot weather but today I held my first ever Stamp-a-Stack class. I had a great morning helping six crafty ladies each make 12 cards. In case you can’t do the maths this meant that I cut and prepared 72 card bases and assorted card stock ready for stamping and assembly! You might think it was madness brought on by the sun, but all the preparation meant that everything was stamped and most of them put together in the 2 1/2 hour class. Whats more, some of the ladies even had time to decorate their envelopes.
Here are the three cards that were made today.
This first card was made using the Welcome Christmas stamp set along with a greeting from the ever faithful Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. We used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to add scored lines to the piece of Crumb Cake card stock that the greeting and wreath are attached too.
The second card was made using the Season of Joy stamp set along with a greeting from the Curly Cute stamp set. The Poinsettia that sits in the middle of the card was attached using dimensionals to give it some added depth. This stamp set has to be one of my favourite Christmas ones.
This last card was made using the Polar Party stamp set. I love the penguins in this set and as you can see I could not resist adding one to the inside of the card. The trees and the penguin were coloured using Stampin’ Write Markers.
As well as making the cards and stamping the envelopes we talked about how we could add a little bit more “bling” should they want to. Options included Dazzling Diamonds for snow, Crystal Effects on the Poinsettia, Brads for berries, to name a few. I will over the next few days bling up a couple of the cards and then let you see the “before” and “after” photos.
