This is my second project of the month using a brayer.
This time around I have decided to use the brayer to make a simple card using the resist method. It is a little like the embossed resist method and can in fact be used for that too. For this card I used a Versamark for the resist part and have not bothered with the clear embossing powder. You can of course go one stage further and do this if you want to. If I had used the clear embossing powder you would be able to see the Very Vanilla card stock under the image. Instead, the image has picked up a little of the ink colour, giving a softer effect.
I used the Just Believe stamp set, and stamped this using the Versamark onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock. I inked up my brayer with Crumb Cake from my Stampin’ Pad and then rolled this a number of times over the Very Vanilla, re inking each time. When I was happy with the colour I simply rolled the brayer over the image a few more times to make sure that the colour was even all over.
As you can see the background has coloured nicely and you can clearly see the images that I stamped with the Versamark.
The base card is a piece of Chocolate Chip card stock and I stamped another image from the Just Believe stamp set in Chocolate Chip ink. The piece of Very Vanilla (now Crumb Cake) was matted onto a piece of Baja Breeze but before I did that I attached a piece of Chocolate Chip Scallop Dots Ribbon. The greeting also comes from the Just Believe set and I stamped this in Chocolate Chip onto a piece of inked card that I had to trim off the top of the stamped and brayered image. The greeting was punched out using the Decorative Label punch and matted onto a piece of Chocolate Chip that has also been punched out using the Decorative Label punch.
