I have already posted in my sneak peeks photos of cards that I have made using the Open Sea stamp set. I only wish that I had been able to use it in my Cards for Men class. Never mind, it will still get lots of use over the coming months as it is a great stamp set that has 5 nautical themed stamps in it. It comes in both wood (Item No. 123030 £23.95) and clear mount (Item No. 123032 £18.95).

Here are some more cards that I have made using the stamp set. I also used the new Simply Scored Scoring Tool to make the rosette.

1st card – rosette with brad and greeting only

2nd Card – Rosette with Compass stamp and greeting only

3rd card – as per 2nd but also additional ship stamped

4th card – as per 1st but with ship stamped

I thought I would show you four variations of the same card – the first two have just a background and greeting (Curly Cute stamp set) stamped and on the last two I have added the ship stamp. The stamp set lends itself to both a vintage/antique look and also a more contemporary one. This time I have used a Tempting Turquoise base card with Rich Razzleberry and Pear Pizzazz card stock for the mount and rosette. The various images were stamped in Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry and Pear Pizzazz.
As I’ve already mentioned, I used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to make the rosettes. It is a great tool for making these as there are etched grooves every 1/8th inches on the standard board and every 1 cm on the Metric Scoring Plate. The plates also have grooves at certain points to help you with scoring your card stock into standard card sizes and of course with the help of the Place Markers that fit into the ruler it makes making a box a cinch.
The Simply Scored Scoring Tool – Item no. 122334 £25.95
The Scoring Tool comes with 3 Place Markers and a Stylus

Additional Place Markers (Pack of 6 – Item No. 125625 £2.25)  and Stylus  (Item No. 125624 £3.95) are also available for purchase as is the Metric Scoring Plate (Item No. 127625 £10.95) and also the Diagonal Scoring Plate (comes with instructions for creating common envelope sizes. Item No. 125586 £10.95).

I will have most of these at my Open House so if you get a chance to pop along you will have a chance to play with them. If you can’t and would like one please drop me a line and I can order one for you.
