The lovely ladies on the In Love With Stamping (ILWS) web-site posted three challenges on Saturday.  I was not sure which of them (if any) I would be able to complete.  The three were:

1. Set by Laura, was to use colours you would not normally use.

2. Set by Allison was to use a shopping list of things. This consisted of the following:

  • 1 x punch
  • 2 x stamp sets
  • 3 x techniques (embossing, glitter, big shot etc)
  • 4 x colours
  • 5 x embellishments (ribbons, buttons, brads etc)
3. Set by Vannessa, was to use your favourites (colours, stamp set etc).
I had thought about trying to combine all three in one project but that was before I had found out what all the challenges were. On reading and thinking about them, it was fairly obvious that 1 and 3 together was not an option! I therefore thought about combining 2 and 3 and this is what I have come up with.

For this card I used my one of my favourite stamp sets, Just Believe, together with my favourite colours, Chocolate Chip, Rich Razzelberry, Old Olive and Crumb Cake. So this fulfils Vannessa’s challenge.

The difficult part was the challenge set by Allison. For those of you who know me, I tend to keep my cards clean and simple, without too many embellishments. So this challenge really pushed me out of my comfort zone. Hopefully the card I’ve made is not too over the top.  For the challenge I used the following:

  • 1 x punch – Word Window
  • 2 x stamp sets – Just Believe and Teeny Tiny Wishes
  • 3 x techniques – Embossing, Stampin’ Write Markers to colour the stamp, and Repetition
  • 4 x colours – Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
  • 5 x embellishments – Butterflies x 3, Rhinestones x 5, Ribbon, Buttons  x 2 (probably too many)
I am going to raid my stash of Stampin’ Up! card stock to find the colours I would not normally use and hopefully I will manage to come up with a project in the next day or two that will meet the challenge set by Laura.  Please keep checking back so see what’s going on. In addition, there is still the challenges that were set today to consider and I am sure that I will be doing one of them.
