I spent yesterday designing a card for a Shoe Box Swap event that I’m attending next week. My design features the trees from the Stitched Brightly Dies.
Here’s the card that I came up with.
Basic Instructions for the card
- Old Olive card base – 10.5 x 29.7 cm
- Score and fold in half at 14.9 cm
- Whisper White panel – 6.0 x 14.9 cm
- Die cut using the tree die from the Stitched Brightly Dies
- Double sided paper panel – 5.9 x 14.8 cm
- Glue this to the back of the Whisper White panel so that the colours show through.
- Whisper White inside panel – 10.0 x 14.4 cm
- Die cut one tree. The trick is to place the top plate of the die machine over just the one tree. The other trees will not cut because there is no plate over them.
- Glue inside the card.
- Night of Navy foil from the Noble Peacock Foil Pack- 1.0 x 14.9 cm
- Glue this to the reverse of the die cut Whisper White panel.
- Old Olive foil from the Noble Peacock Foil Pack – 1.5 x 14.9 cm
- Glue to the reverse of the die cut Whisper White panel and the Night of Navy foil.
- Use dimensionals to fix to the card front.
- Whisper White strip – 1.5 x 7.0 cm
- Stamp sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set using Night of Navy ink.
- Trim the strip to suit.
- Adhere the sentiment strip to the card front using dimensionals.
- Add some rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestones Basic Jewels pack.
- Decorate envelope as desired. I used a piece of Old Olive card stock and used the die to make one tree. The tree was fussy cut and then glued to the front of the envelope.
