This week I’m sharing projects made using products from the 2019 Autumn/Winter Catalogue from Stampin’ Up! I fell in love with the tree from the Memories of Home stamp set the moment I saw it. It reminds me of the traditional real tree and ornaments that we had when I was growing up. Each year Dad would dig the tree out of the garden and put it into a container before bringing it into the house. The same ornaments would come out each year – many of them from when my mum was a child.
Sadly, the tree did not live forever, one year it lost all it’s needles so it didn’t get replanted. The ornaments well, I still have some of them but not all of them. My mum passed some onto me when I got married. But, in 2001 our moving container was broken into during its transport to San Diego. Whoever broke in trampled most of the boxes that contained the decorations. My husband still recalls the wail that I let out when the container was opened and saw the smashed decorations.
I’ve coloured the tree using my Stampin’ Blends using colours that match those in the ornaments that I remember. My mum was not one for colour themes or trends at that time. The resulting card is a little eclectic, but I love it.
Stampin’ Blend Colours used for the tree are
Call Me Clover, Crumb Cake, Mango Melody, Night of Navy, Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie and Shaded Spruce,
Have you noticed that some of the ornaments have a shine to them? I used some Fine Tip Glue on them.
The glue works in the same way as glossy accents, but you have more control over where the glue goes. This is because of the fine tip applicator.
The stamp set will be available from 4 September (item no. 150474 – £20.00). Details of the products used for the card can be found in the supplies list below. So, if you would like to make this Memories of Home card click on the relevant picture below to visit my Online store.
