Hello and welcome to the first CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge of October. This month some of the team are taking it in turn to host, and this week it is the turn of Samantha. I’ve decided to use the Petal Palette stamp set for the latest challenge and opted to use it two different ways.
Here’s the colours we have to play with.
The first card is my attempt of a more contempory one. It was quite challenging because the stamp set is a little more along the traditonal lines. I do like what I came up with though.
I used my Stamparatus to stamp the thick lines of Coastal Cabana dots. This was to ensure equal spacing and that they were level with each other.
The Stamparatus was also used to stamp the sentiments in Gray Granite athough I guess I could have taken a chance and winged it. Which, it what I did when stamping the Pear Pizzazz flower. Sadly, you can’t tell from the photo but I also applied a little bit of Clear Wink of Stella to the flower.
My second card uses the stamp set in a more traditional way. Again, I used my Stamparatus to ensure the correct placement of the images. I also used Blender Pens and the Coastal Cabana ink pad to colour the bird. Blender Pens are not quite as smooth for coloring as the Stampin’ Blends but in this case I did not mind because it lends some texture to the bird’s plumage.
I hope my cards have inspired you to give the challenge ago. You will find the link to add your card along with pictures of all the other design team members cards over on the CC&S blog. Deadline for adding the link to your card is 11.00 pm (UK time) on Monday, 8 October.
Happy stamping.
