It’s August and instead of one person hosting for the whole month, you will have a new host each week. This week it’s the turn of Patricia and she has a colour challenge for us. I’ve opted to use the Blended Season stamp set for the challenge. But, because I am still away from home with limited colours of ink and cardstock available to me, I’ve had to use colours that I thought were the closest.
These are the colours that Patricia chose.
I had brought both the Blended Season stamp set, coordinating dies and the new Watercolor Pencils away with me so this is what I came up with.
Quick Instructions for the card
- Night of Navy base card – 10.5 x 29.7 cm. Scored and folded at 14.9 cm
- Cajun Craze layer – 10.0 x 14.4 cm. Glue the stamped and coloured Whisper White layer to this. Then add the whole layer to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Whisper White layer – 9.5 x 13.9 cm. Stamp the image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then use the pencils and a Blender Pen to colour the image. The colours used are Night of Navy, Cajun Craze and Garden Green.
- The sentiment was stamped in Night of Navy and fussy cut out. Add the sentiment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
As usual, I decorated the inside of the card but instead of stamping I did a bit of paper piecing using one of the dies.
I die cut the image four times. Firstly into the Whisper White (10.0 x 14.4 cm) and used the negative to add the other colours. And, then again in Night of Navy, Cajun Craze and Garden Green. I only inset the bits that I wanted so the Cajun Craze piece used for the centre of the flower is quite small.
