Because it’s the fifth Tuesday of the month we have a double challenge for you this week – sketch and colours. I’ve opted to use the Eastern Beauty stamp set.
Confession time, I have none of the colours and because I’m in San Diego I have a very limited supply of options (ink and stamps). Below, are the colours that I do have, which are the closest!! I know, they are a bit left field but the whole point of challenges is to do what you can with that you have. At the end of the day, so long as the colours are similar and you don’t introduce new colours then go for it.
Just so you know, I would probably have used Poppy Parade instead of Berry Burst. Oh well.
This is the card that I came up with.
So glad that the Eastern Beauty stamp set is a photopolymer one. It made stamping a little easier.
My husband thought I was going mad when I made the card. I borrowed one of his pencils and drew a semi-circle on the white cardstock using a large dinner plate. The pencil line then became my guide for stamping the “banners”.
Stamping guide
- Start with the Berry Burst in the centre of the pencil line and then alternate the other colours on both sides. Once the ink is dry, rub out the pencil line.
- Stamp the Berry Burst circle next.
- Followed by the Pear Pizzazz centre and the Soft Suede sentiment.
I have to confess that I am really pleased with what I came up with. Let me know what you think.
